Participatory Video and 'Street Youth'
Author(s):
This thesis is an investigation of the potential of a participatory video project (PVP) to support 'street youth' to articulate their views of an issue affecting their lives. Between July 1996 and April 1997, 'street youth' in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, participated in producing a video tape in which they discussed their views of the welfare changes introduced in October 1996 by the Ontario Provincial government of Premier Mike Harris. This thesis explores the experience of the youth involved and defines the value of using a PVP with this group.
