Description:
150 Voices is a project commissioned by Providence Row, a London homeless charity. It examines homelessness, migration and poverty in the east end of London through the eyes of those that have experienced it. Situated next to the richest square mile in the world - the City of London - the East End remains a stark contrast to this wealth and serves as a reminder of the struggle of migration.
The project is led by artist Shiraz Bayjoo who has worked with Providence Row for the last seven years. It ranges from full film interviews to soundbites as well as a collection of photographic portraits. Interviews are conducted by staff, volunteers and those that have used the charity’s services.
