A Study of the Vancouver Reconnect Program and Vancouver Street Youth
This study was commissioned by the British Columbia Ministry of Social Services and Housing as part of its on-going committement to help street children escape their situation, and to start them on the road to a more secure and productive mainstream life. Specifically, the research team had two primary tasks: 1) to gather and anayze data on various characteristics of the street youth populations, including numbers of youth, family history, contact with services, involvement with crimes, and street experiences and 2) to review and describe the recennt history of the REconnect program and to review the services to street youth as recorded in the files of the Vanocuver Adoloscents Services Unit
