A Survey on the Extent of Substandard Housing Problems Faced By Immigrants and Refugees in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia
Description:
This report highlights the findings of a community-based project that focuses on determining the extent of substandard housing problems faced by immigrants and refugees in the Lower Mainland. Although research that examines these particular issues does exist at a national and international level, no comprehensive local research had been compiled from which detailed secondary analysis could be maintained. This research therefore is groundbreaking in that it examines key issues in the Lower Mainland that had not yet been researched or documented. This research will function as a catalyst for future research projects by establishing a coherent foundation of current local knowledge and awareness. When discussing the issue of affordable housing in its entirety, it is important to note that all people with low incomes are affected by the cost of housing.
