Disadvantage, Drift and Despair: a Study of Homelessness in Canada
Author(s):
The study yields a profile of characteristics of the homeless. Also, three models of homelessness are assessed (using logistic regression) based on theories prominent in the American research literature. These include: the socioeconomic theories of homelessness; theories of social dislocation; and theories of the physical and psychological factors associated with homelessness. Next, a composite model is developed and estimated, using measures outlined in each of the three theoretical approaches. (excerpt from the publisher)
