Fundación Pro-Hábitat. Bolivia
Fundación Pro-Hábitat, Homeless International's partner in Bolivia until 2006, was formed in 1993 with the aim of "responding to the challenge of promoting community participation and management as an essential strategy in the development of human settlements in Bolivia". The organisation has mainly focused upon combating the fatal Chagas disease, which is spread by Vinchuca beetles that thrive in poor quality housing. The organisation has sought to develop a credit programme to provide affordable loans to families seeking to upgrade housing.(abstract from http://www.homeless-international.org)
