The reasons young people leave home are complex and include family conflict, physical and/or sexual abuse, substance abuse and trauma. This has been described as young people ‘running from’ family or personal problems.
This national survey, designed to learn more about everyday understanding of homelessness, indicates that most Australians significantly underestimate the number of people in Australia who are homeless
