Homelessness in New Orleans

This week, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported that homelessness in New Orleans has doubled - from 6,000 to 12,000 people - since Hurricane Katrina. And while this has occurred, a significant number of the housing and supportive services programs that operated prior to Katrina have not reopened, drastically reducing the city's capacity to prevent and end homelessness.
