Increasing School Stability for Students Experiencing Homelessness: Overcoming Challenges To Providing Transportation To the School of Origin
School Stability for Students Experiencing
Homelessness: Overcoming Challenges to Providing Transportation to
the School of Origin, developed by the National Center for Homeless
Education (NCHE), targets school districts that are in the initial
stages of addressing the school stability and transportation needs of
homeless students and those that wish to refine their current system.
Information from interviews with local administrators in eight school
districts that successfully provide transportation to the school of origin
provides strategies and guidelines for establishing effective
transportation programs to serve the needs of homeless children and
youth. (Authors)
