No Place Else to Go: Homeless Mothers and Their Children Living in Urban Shelters
Author(s):
A study of the attitudes, experiences, and strategies of women and their families in a model urban homeless shelter that offered private apartments with bathrooms and kitchens, and support services such as job training and child care. The study concludes that this type of shelter is more appropriate for mothers and children than large shelters or welfare hotels. Erratum included.
