State of Knowledge on Housing Discrimination

This report provides an overview of current research on the extent to which housing discrimination exists in Canada. The report looks at different ways researchers have tried to determine the incidence of discrimination, including a review of human rights complaints and surveys of perceived discrimination. They find that an audit in which testers from two different racial groups approach landlords about the availability of an advertised unit is the most reliable.
