Washington, DC - A new prevention program can achieve significant reductions in risk behaviors associated with the HIV epidemic among African-American crack using women in the Southeastern U.S., according to a study released at the Society for Prevention Research 9th Annual conference in Washington, DC, May 31-June 2.
The prevention program, developed by Research Triangle Institute in North Carolina, focuses on women who are not in drug-abuse treatment, and has assisted more than 700 women in the past four years.
