In November 2010 , the Ontario government appointed the authors of this report to lead a comprehensive review of social assistance in Ontario and to make recommendations to improve the system. The review was established as part of the government‘s 2008 Poverty Reduction Strategy. The overarching goal of the review was to identify ways to remove barriers and help people move into employment.
