Lanark County and the Town of Smiths Falls Ten Year Housing and Homelessness Plan 2014 - 2024

This Ten-Year Housing and Homelessness Plan provides a framework for improving access to safe and healthy homes for the people of Lanark County and the Town of Smiths Falls.

As the provincially designated Consolidated Municipal Service Manager (CMSM or Service Manager) for these areas, Lanark County is responsible for preparing and implementing a ten-year Housing and Homelessness Plan, following the guidelines in the 2011 Ontario Housing Policy Statement. Both the creation of the plan and its implementation are only possible with extensive cooperation with the local municipalities, housing and social service providers and the community at large. With the input of nearly 300 individuals and organizations through a process of surveys, focus groups and two rounds of public meetings, this plan has been developed by an advisory committee of housing provider representatives coordinated by the Service Manager, aided by a consultant and supported and guided by county and municipal councillors. This is the first ever Lanark County Housing and Homelessness Plan.
