Over the last three months, communities across the country have been planning and implementing Point-in-Time (PiT) Counts, as part of a pan-Canadian effort to enumerate homelessness in Canada. A PiT Count is a research methodology used to provide a “snapshot” of homelessness in a community over a 24-hour period.
Today, the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness is launching a brand new, dedicated Youth Homelessness Space on the Community Workspace on Homelessness.
Much of the research on youth homelessness is conducted in larger cities such as Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. But youth homelessness occurs across the country, in communities of every size. Is the experience of being homeless substantially different for youth in non-urban areas?
