Building research capacity together
In an effort to bridge the gap between research, policy and practice, the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness (COH) goes beyond the mandate of a traditional research institute. Through Hub Solutions — a COH social enterprise — we support agencies, communities and policy makers, to improve their capacity to end homelessness.
Our philosophy is simple: through research, evaluation and communications, we can develop evidence-based solutions and together, solve homelessness.
What is Hub Solutions?
Our mandate is twofold. First, we seek to build the research, evaluation and design capacity of our partners, with the intention of improving our collective responses to homelessness. Second, income generated from Hub Solutions fee-for-service work, is reinvested into the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness to support research, innovation, policy recommendations and knowledge mobilization. To-date this includes:
- Without a Home: The National Youth Homelessness Survey
- The Indigenous Definition of Homelessness in Canada
- What Would it Take? Youth Across Canada Speak Out on Homelessness Prevention
For more, look for the Hub Solutions logo on our reports and briefs. You can read more about the COH’s mandate and research priority areas at About the COH.
Who is Hub Solutions?
The Hub Solutions team is fully embedded within the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness. The team assigned to you will depend on your project needs and objectives. Rest assured, partners of Hub Solutions will benefit from the immense knowledge and experience of the entire COH staff and management.
On the day-to-day, Hub Solutions is managed by Allyson Marsolais, Chief Operating Officer of the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness. You can drop her a line or contact us through the Hub Solutions email account.
Homelessness is a complex issue. While many of us know what it would take to end homelessness, we know that it isn’t always easy to get there. Through our Hub Solutions Research Process, we offer a full suite of services to help your agency, organization or community build better, evidence-based solutions to homelessness.
