Diversity

The face of poverty in Canada is represented by a diverse population. Statistical research provides evidence that some groups are more affected by poverty than others, especially children and youth, persons with disabilities, immigrants, indigenous peoples, members of the LGBTQ community, seniors, and women. Each diverse group faces unique challenges and barriers, making it easier for individuals in poverty to fall through the cracks in services and programs.
