Social Capital

Social capital is about the value of social networks, bonding similar people and bridging between diverse people, by encouraging reciprocity and collaboration, and providing access to resources not otherwise available. For example, mentorship - a positive relationship with a caring, non-parental adult who connects youth to other important relationships and resources, is associated with upward economic mobility, such as educational attainment and workforce participation.
