This report offers statistics on the medical expense tax credit and medication for persons with disabilities. Also provides statistics on difficulties that persons with disabilities experience with local transit, as well as more information on children with special needs and their school experiences. Less than one-quarter of persons with disabilities reported that they had claimed the medical expense tax credit, and of those who had submitted a claim, persons who reported that at some point that they were unable to buy the medication they required due to cost concerns and those with severe or most severe disabilities were the least likely to be successful with their medical expense claim.
