Our agency is an innovative, award winning and rapidly expanding organization. We work locally and nationally to prevent, reduce and end youth homelessness in Canada. We provide a range of services to homeless and at risk youth. We are currently looking to add to our vibrant and enthusiastic senior management staff team by filling the vacancy of Director of Development.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled Director of Development to lead our Development Department in the provision of strategic leadership in designing, implementing and evaluating the organization’s fundraising plan in order to build and maintain a long term base of support for the organization. In addition to overseeing all aspects of the organization’s fundraising activities, the Director will build the organization’s visibility and support by communicating its identity and impact to key constituencies. The Director of Development serves as a key member of the senior leadership team and is an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting the organization.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced fundraiser and compelling communicator with strong leadership and management competencies at a senior management level. The Director of Development reports to the Executive Director and has operational responsibility for fundraising/resource development, donor relations and communications functions for the organization.

Qualifications include a minimum of 5 years senior management experience, a Bachelor degree in a related field, and a proven track record in fundraising. Demonstrated experience in planning, budgeting and implementing an annual fundraising plan including Corporate, Foundations, Community Campaigns and Special Events is essential. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated ability in producing compelling promotional materials and concepts. Computer literacy as well as knowledge and experience in using social media as part of an integrated fundraising campaign is essential. Membership with A.F.P. and C.F.R.E. certification are preferred. The successful candidate will be visionary, creative and enthusiastic; will have a high level of energy and initiative and a proven ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
