Food and Homelessness - HPS Teleforum Series - June 2008

Often when people think of homeless service providers the second thing thought of after a bed is food. Currently rising food prices are causing problems for many throughout the world and there seems to be a growing awareness that Canada’s shelters, drop-ins and food banks are no exception. While not new concerns, this does highlight such questions as the reliability of food donations and the ability to balance health and affordability in the provision of food. Representatives from two of Canada’s largest food banks will help us sift through the topic of food and homelessness at our next HPS teleforum.
