Getting It Right – Putting human rights at the center of youth housing strategies

The Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation in Ontario (CERA) piloted a project titled Getting it Right: Promoting housing and human rights for homeless and at-risk youth.

The objective of this 12-month project was to reduce homelessness for youth and young adults (aged 16-30) in five communities across Ontario (Ottawa, Windsor, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and St. Catharines). CERA partnered with youth and young adult-serving organizations in each community to train them on human rights and housing issues and on how art can be used to educate youth and young adult clients in these matters.

This project was funded by the Government of Canada's Homelessness Partnering Strategy’s Innovative Solutions to Homelessness program. The opinions and interpretations provided in the publication are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Government of Canada.
