Impakt piloted a project titled HireUp.
The objective of this 12-month project was to pilot and propose to develop HireUp 2.0, the second iteration of a national employment readiness tool and online job-matching platform, where youth service organizations (YSOs), youth, and employers work collectively to end youth homelessness through employment.
This online employment hub helps YSOs assist homeless and at-risk youth to develop the marketable skills they need to secure employment (through an upskilling and micro-credential feature), and apply for jobs posted by employers interested in making social inclusion part of their hiring strategy. This tool is the first comprehensive online employment platform in Canada designed specifically to improve employment outcomes for homeless and at-risk youth.
This project was funded in part by the Government of Canada's Homelessness Partnering Strategy’s Innovative Solutions to Homelessness program. The opinions and interpretations provided in the publication are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Government of Canada.
