The Homeless of Phoenix: A Profile

The purpose of this study was to generate data to describe the homeless population in Phoenix and to determine their need for mental health care. Data indicate that minority groups comprise a substantial proportion of the homeless population of Phoenix, including Native Americans (12%), Hispanic (14%), and Black (8%). Other topics covered include family relations, economic support, patterns of homelessness, and health and behavioral health profiles.
