A National Housing Strategy by and For Whom? Documented Experiences of People with Living Knowledge of Housing Need

Improving the National Housing Strategy (NHS) is one of the National Housing Council’s 3 priority areas for 2021-22.

As such, the Council commissioned A Way Home Canada (AWHC) to conduct a review and analysis on documented experiences of people with living knowledge of housing need. The result is a report entitled: A National Housing Strategy by and For Whom? Documented Experiences of People with Living Knowledge of Housing Need.

This report provides a literature review that examines nearly 300 documents and provides four overarching conclusions from the analysis, accompanied by nine recommendations which aim to advance not only the realization of the right to housing, but also the centering of lived experience in the development of housing solutions.
