Partnering to Keep Girls Safe – Final Project Report

The Pacific Community Resources Society piloted a project titled Partnering to Keep Girls Safe.

The objective of this 14-month project was to pilot and identify pathways to homelessness and service needs of female youth (under 19) in British Columbia (BC) who are being sexually exploited, fleeing violence/harmful relationships, and who are at risk of homelessness.

This project focused on developing a toolkit of resources for successfully housing and supporting women leaving their origin communities, migrating to Vancouver and becoming homeless. The toolkit was developed in partnership with youth, service providers who serve youth, local police and health agencies, and an inter-agency learning community of practice. The toolkit includes national and international best practices, as well as the experiences of women in Vancouver/Fraser Valley and the origin communities
of Kelowna, Nanaimo and Prince George, BC.

This project was funded by the Government of Canada's Homelessness Partnering Strategy’s Innovative Solutions to Homelessness program. The opinions and interpretations provided in the publication are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Government of Canada.
