PATH Webcast Resource: Caring for Self While Caring for Others

This free PATH webcast, which aired on August 12, 2009 focused on the subject of self-care. This presentation was delivered by Ken Kraybill of the Center for Social Innovation.

Caring for others can be rewarding and depleting. Participants of this webcast became familiar with the common causes and effects of stress in this work, and ways to enhance self-care through increased awareness, balance, and connection. Strategies for self-care in and outside of the work setting were explored.

This webcast, which aired on August 12, 2009 discussed the principles and importance of self-care. Ken Kraybill of the Center for Social innovation, presented this topic to Illinois PATH providers.

About the Presenter
Ken has been working in the health, behavioral health, and homelessness arena for the past 27 years. Drawing upon 18 years of direct service and advocacy experience in homeless settings, Ken has developed various curricula, resource guides and workshops to inform and equip others in the field. He provides training nationally on topics including outreach and engagement, motivational interviewing, supervision, and personal and organizational wellness. Ken works for the Center for Social Innovation as a Training and Technical Assistance Specialist.
