This guide provides a model for gender-specific, low barrier, supportive and permanent housing to meet the needs of women (inclusive of 2-spirited, trans and cis) and non-binary people who access the women’s emergency shelter system who experience multiple years of homelessness. It was co-created by people with lived experience, front-line workers, academics, and grassroots organizations in Hamilton (ON).
