Rapid Review of Peer Reviewed Literature of Housing and Homelessness and Women Fleeing Domestic Violence, with a Focus on Aboriginal Women (Background Document)

This report is a background document prepared for Alberta Centre for Child, Family and Community Research Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Abstract: The Alberta Centre for Child Family and Community Research (ACCFCR) has developed a research strategy on homelessness, and stakeholders have recently identified three priorities including homelessness among women fleeing intimate partner violence/domestic violence, with a special focus on Aboriginal women. As part of preparation for stakeholder discussions about priorities and foci for potential research projects, ACCFCR commissioned a very brief rapid review of the peer-reviewed literature on the topic. A parallel search of the grey literature that used similar subject terms was also conducted and is reported elsewhere.
