Relief Childcare Worker

Our organization is an association of diverse and caring women dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through dynamic leadership, advocacy and a range of unique and essential services that promote personal growth and economic independence.

Our facility is a licensed early childhood development centre in a transitional residence where women and their children who are homeless or at risk of being homeless may stay up to two years. It provides a unique opportunity for women to plan for their future while their young children are learning in an excellent early childhood development program.

Reporting to: the Site Manager, the Relief Childcare Worker is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the child care program in accordance with the goals of the department and the overall agency.

You will have: an Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate or recognized equivalent is an asset (high school completion required); an Early Childhood Education diploma is an asset; 1 to 3 years experience with children ages 0 to 6; skills and flexibility to work with various age groupings from 0 to 6 years; excellent interpersonal communication skills; knowledge of early childhood development, theory and practice; experience working within a multicultural environment; second language an asset.
