The objectives of the research were to: · Provide a credible estimate of the number of homeless and "at-risk" persons, by subregion in Greater Vancouver; · Provide a demographic profile of both these populations; · Develop a data management system at the GVRD to provide a means of storing and organizing this data in a form that allows for periodic updating, and making this information accessible to all those working to address homelessness in the Greater Vancouver region; and · Develop a methodology to conduct first person interviews with homeless and formerly homeless people.
