Tłı̨chǫ Łeagia Ts’ı̨ı̨lı̨ Kǫ (TLTK) - 2017 Behchokǫ̀ Homelessness Needs Assessment - Report of Survey Results

Tlicho Leagia Ts' iili Ko (TLTK) piloted a project titled Community Needs Assessment and Strategic Framework Development for Homeless in Behchoko, Northwest Territories (NT).

The objective of this 6-month project was to pilot and build capacity in a Northern community, by bringing together key partners to encourage a systemic approach to targeting homelessness in Behchoko, NT.

With the aim of addressing the unique needs found in the North, TLTK developed an innovative framework for participation that centers on the input and voice of its homeless population. Built on a previously conducted high-level needs assessment survey from March 2016, this project aims to fill the gaps by conducting a tailored survey focusing on homelessness, which will be developed into a Homelessness Solution Strategy, and used to provide insight into the prevention and reduction of homelessness in Behchoko, NT.

This project was funded in part by the Government of Canada's Homelessness Partnering Strategy’s Innovative Solutions to Homelessness program. The opinions and interpretations provided in the publication are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Government of Canada.
