Thrive: A Continuum of Care for Women and Children Fleeing Violence at Risk of Homelessness

First Step Housing Project Inc. piloted a project titled Thrive a Continuum of Care for Women and Children Fleeing Violence at Risk of Homelessness.

The objective of this 6-month project with homeless and other service providers in the Saint John, New Brunswick region was to pilot and assess existing resources available to women and children fleeing violence, and was also to create a model to streamline services and provides more comprehensive and integrated support to this population with a view to prevent homelessness in an urban rural context.
This project also developed an implementation plan by which the model could be implemented in the future and would provide a replicable model for similar urban-rural communities across Canada.

This project was funded by the Government of Canada's Homelessness Partnering Strategy’s Innovative Solutions to Homelessness program. The opinions and interpretations provided in the publication are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Government of Canada.
