The Urban Indigenous Action Plan (the plan) is a policy framework that was co-developed by the government of Ontario (Ontario), the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC), the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO), and the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA). The plan is a guidance document to assist Ontario in its approach to developing policies, programs and practices for urban Indigenous issues and needs in this province. The plan does not create any legally binding standards or obligations with respect to resources or funding. The actions set forth in this document will require flexibility in their application and will depend upon the context in which particular policies, programs and practices are developed and implemented.
