In the midst of so much happening at federal, provincial/territorial and municipal levels concerning housing and homelessness, it’s important that we don’t lose sight of some of the most vulnerable people in Canada: youth experiencing homelessness.
Convergence. This is a good way to describe what is happening in Ontario. Things are starting to align in ways that can allow us to go further faster in moving the dial on youth homelessness, but we have to be strategic in how we maximize these opportunities.
Is now the right time for a more robust federal investment on youth homelessness? Today, the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness has released a policy brief where we make the case that there is now an opportunity for the Government of Canada to work with community partners to address youth homelessness in a much more strategic and effective manner.
