This section of the Homeless Hub is designed to make Human Resources work easier for community organizations including housing providers, emergency shelters, drop-ins and support agencies. We want to enable you focus on the real work – helping to end homelessness – rather than on the minutiae of running an agency.
In this section we’re providing information about self-care – an important and often neglected issue in the sector – and training programs/tool-kits for staff. While some of this information comes from countries other than Canada, we feel that it is very adaptable.
Additionally, you will find job summaries that outline different types of positions an agency may require. Where possible, for each job “type” we have also included job descriptions from organizations that already employ someone in that position.
