“Active Community for Employment and Housing Support” Supervised Apartments Project

The Espace Vivant Living Room Youth Shelter piloted a project titled Espace Vivant Living Room.

This 13-month project piloted an intervention model to prevent homelessness among vulnerable youth.

This model combines the offer of Living Room services with Employment and Social Development Canada's (EDSC) Skills Link program to enable youth experiencing difficulties on several levels, and precariousness with respect to housing, to receive intensive community support to help them develop their autonomy, have a relevant and positive work experience, and access housing.

This project was funded by the Government of Canada's Homelessness Partnering Strategy’s Innovative Solutions to Homelessness program. The opinions and interpretations provided in the publication are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Government of Canada.
