Housing Worker (Nights)

Description:

The Housing Worker will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with vulnerable populations who face housing insecurity and related challenges. Maintaining a positive environment, ensuring safe and secure operations and encouraging positive interpersonal interactions between clients and staff are fundamental to this position.

Qualifications:

  • Annual registration in a professional organization as required by law.
  • Non Violent Crisis and Suicide Intervention Certification preferred.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C, Child Welfare & Police Security Clearance and WHMIS Certification Experience
  • Minimum of one year of experience working directly with vulnerable populations and/or families at risk or have faced housing insecurity.
  • Experience and knowledge of cultural groups, high needs and vulnerable populations. Knowledge/Skills
  • Demonstrates and understands professional boundaries and confidentiality, expresses a caring and non-judgmental attitude.
  • Beginner knowledge of social housing and homelessness issues, challenges and barriers facing people who may have addictions or suffer from mental illness, and employment and human services resources.

Beginner knowledge of service implementation, planning and outcome evaluation. Organizational and time management skills, excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal, and team skills.
