The Community Care St. Catharines and Thorold piloted a project titled Ready to Rent Ontario – Opening Doors to Housing Stability Through Education.
The objective of this 12-month project was to pilot and scale up a successful Ready to Rent (R2R) pilot project that was completed in the Niagara Region, and expand this program to serve 10 communities across Ontario.
R2R Ontario Project, RentSmart Ontario provided correlated housing stabilization education, skills training and supports to renters/tenants, housing organizations, homelessness service organizations and private sector landlords with the goal of healthy tenancies. Healthy tenancies are key to housing stability, prevention of homelessness and strong communities.
This project was funded in part by the Government of Canada's Homelessness Partnering Strategy’s Innovative Solutions to Homelessness program. The opinions and interpretations provided in the publication are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Government of Canada.
